Athletic Department Administrative Duties Reassigned

Four administrators in the University of Wisconsin Athletic Department will receive new titles and additional duties effective immediately, Athletic Director Pat Richter announced Thursday.
The moves follow the resignation of Associate Athletic Director Al Fish, who earlier this week was named Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning Management at UW-Madison. Richter said the department will not fill the vacancy created by Fish's departure and instead will distribute Fish's former duties among current staff.
In the moves announced Thursday, Jamie Pollard was named Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Finance. He will continue his current duties overseeing Business Services, Personnel, Facilities, Event Operations, Food and Beverage, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, as well as men's and women 's basketball. In his new duties, he will serve as the department's representative on the Camp Randall Stadium renovation project and the department's other capital projects.
Cheryl Marra was named Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Administration. She will continue to provide administrative oversight for 20 of the department's 23 sports, as well as Compliance and Academic Affairs. She will also continue in her role as Senior Women's Administrator. In her new duty, Marra will oversee the department's equipment inventory operations.
Vince Sweeney was named Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. He will continue his current duties overseeing Marketing and Promotions, Communications, Ticket Operations, Annual Fundraising and Suite and Club Seat Sales. He will continue to serve as department liaison to the UW Foundation, Badger Sports Properties, the National W Club, the Wisconsin Alumni Association, and the Office of Trademark Licensing, and will continue in his role as chief of staff to Richter. In his new duties, Sweeney will now oversee Video and Technical Services and the University Ridge Golf Course.
Doug Beard was named Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Events. Beard currently oversees the department's event operations and food and beverage. In his new role, Beard will assume an expanded role in the day-to-day facilities, maintenance and event operations.
Richter said the new assignments for the four brought new titles, but no salary adjustments.
