December 23, 2002 | Men's Basketball
The Wisconsin men's basketball team (7-2) plays its final game before the Holiday Break tonight when it takes on Ohio (2-4) at the Kohl Center at 7 p.m. This will be the Badgers' last game until playing at Temple on Jan. 2.
This will be the 10th meeting between Wisconsin and Ohio with the Badgers leading the all-time series 7-2. This will also be the third consecutive season the teams have met. The UW has won each of the last two meetings, winning 65-46 in 2000 in Madison and 77-71 last year in Athens. In last year's contest, Devin Harris recorded a career-high 24 points.
The UW is 52-9 (.852) at home since the beginning of the 1998-99 season, including 25-4 (.862) against non-conference opponents. This season, the Badgers are averaging 83.6 points per game at home and shooting 48.9 percent (203-415) from the field. Forward Alando Tucker is shooting .661 from the field and is one of four players averaging at least 14.0 points per game at the Kohl Center (Penney, Harris and Owens are the others).
Tonight's game will be televised on a tape delay basis across the state by Wisconsin Public Television at 11 p.m. Van Stoutt and Alan Zussman will handle the commentary. The Wisconsin Radio Network carries all Wisconsin games live. Matt Lepay (play-by-play) and Mike Lucas (analysis) call the action.
