Men's Golf Starts Johnny Owens Invite in 9th

The Wisconsin men's golf team is in ninth place after first day action Friday at the Johnny Owens Invitational. The Badgers fired a 300, while host Kentucky shot a 284 to take the lead in the 18-team tournament.
Dylan Esterling leads Wisconsin with a one-over par 72, and sits in a six-way tie for ninth place. Jon Turcott, tied for 15th, carded a two-over 73.
Lightning and rain postponed the tournament in the afternoon and the 54-hole invite will be played to completion tomorrow.
