Men's Golf Closes Johnny Owens Invite in 14th

The Wisconsin men's golf team finished the Johnny Owens Invitational Saturday in a tie for 14th place. Big Ten conference rival Purdue grabbed first place in the 18-team invite, while host Kentucky finished in second.
The Badgers fired a 295 and a 298 on day two of the three-round tournament, finishing with 893. Wisconsin tied Notre Dame, which fired a 306-295-292, in the final team standings.
Junior Jon Turcott led the Badgers on the individual board with a three-over par 216, good for T13th overall. Turcott shot a 68 in the second round and carded a 75 in the invite's final round.
The Badgers compete next at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W.Va., April 5-6.
