Badger Men Tie For Ninth at Marshall Invite

The Wisconsin men's golf team concluded play at the 20-team Marshall Invitational Saturday at the Guyan Country Club, finishing tied for ninth place with a 298-299-301'898. Toledo grabbed the team title with an 877, followed by Illinois and Ohio State at 884 and 888, respectively. The Badgers entered the final round tied for eighth, but dropped into a tie for ninth with Big Ten rival Indiana in the final standings.
Jon Turcott led the Badgers with a fourth-place finish. The junior followed rounds of 72 and 74 on day one with a final-round 1-over 72 to move into a tie for fourth place at 218. Dylan Esterling added a 25th-place finish with a 71-76-77 '224.
Also contributing for Wisconsin were Eric Reno (T37, 226), Brian Brodell (T78, 234) and Kevin Tassistro (T90, 238).
The Badgers travel to the Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio, next weekend for the Kepler Invitational. Wisconsin finished eighth at the meet last season.
