Men's Golf in 11th at Big Tens

The Wisconsin men's golf team is in 11th place with a 297-300-305'902 heading into the final round of the 2002 Big Ten Championship at the par-72 Finkbine Golf Course. Junior Joel Rechlicz is tied for 31st to lead the Badgers.
Purdue had its lead cut to two in the team standings after posting a 5-over-par 293 to sit at 861. Illinois continued to come on strong with a 6-under 282 to move within two shots of the Boilermakers. Indiana and Minnesota are locked in a tie for third at 867, followed by Northwestern in fifth at 868. Eric Jorgensen of Michigan State, Andrew Matthews of Michigan and Chris Mayson of Purdue share the individual lead at 5-under-par 211.
Rechlicz shot the low round of the day for Wisconsin with a 3-over 75 to give him a 222 for the tournament and a tie for 31st.
Junior Jon Turcott carded a 77 to fall into a tie for 40th at 225. Freshmen Dylan Esterling is tied for 44th at 227 after carding a 76 today, while classmate Kevin Tassistro is in a tie for 48th at 228 after a third-round 77. Fellow frosh Michael Baldwin is in 55th with a 78-78-79'235.
The final round of the Big Ten championship tees off Sunday at 8 a.m.
