Wallman Named Wrestling Assistant Coach
June 19, 2002 | Wrestling
Cory Wallman, a two-time NCAA qualifier and 2000 All-American, has been named as a Wisconsin wrestling assistant coach, head coach Barry Davis announced.
'He's been through our program as an athlete and a manager,' Davis said. 'Cory knows what we want to achieve and it helps to have someone who's familiar with Wisconsin wrestling.'
Wallman built a 42-20 career record as a three-year letterwinner for the University of Wisconsin. Originally from Freeman, S.D., Wallman wrestled at 157 lbs. and earned trips to the NCAA Championships in 1999 and 2000. He garnered his All-America honors with a fourth-place finish at the 2000 NCAA tournament to cap his senior campaign. Additionally, the Badgers twice awarded Wallman with the team's Pat Terry Most Dedicated Award.
Wallman graduated from UW in 1999 with a degree in business management and has been Wisconsin's team manager for the past two years.
