Badger Hockey Leads Nation in Attendance

The Wisconsin men's hockey program once again paced the nation in both total and average attendance this past season. During the 2001-02 campaign, the UW drew a total of 236,140 fans to 20 home dates for an average of 11,807. It marked the fourth straight year the Badgers have been the attendance leaders and the 28th time in the school 's history that the men's hockey program has ranked No. 1.
Since moving to the Kohl Center with the start of the 1998-99 season, the Badgers have played 82 home dates and drawn 963,487 fans (11,750 avg.). This season, the 1,000,000th fan to watch UW hockey at the Kohl Center will pass through the turnstiles in just the fifth year of hockey at the arena.
The men's hockey program is the fourth Wisconsin program to rank among the nation's top 10 in attendance for the 2001-02 season. Men 's and women's basketball and volleyball also placed among the nation 's top 10 for both total and average attendance.
