Torpey Qualifies for Olympic Trials

Pat Torpey, of the Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team, swam an Olympic Trials qualifying time in the 200 meter butterfly Friday at the Janet Evans Invitational in Los Angeles. Torpey touched in at 2:02.80, good for ninth place.
Several Badgers are competing in the invite this weekend in preparation for the 2002 Phillips 66 National Championships in August.
Brink Ciferri took 13th in the 200 back. Ciferri touched in at 2:08.43.
