Men's Swimmers Conclude Competition at Nationals

Several Wisconsin men's swimmers recently completed competition at the 2002 Phillips 66 Summer Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Aug. 12-17. Junior Matt Marshall took 13th in the 100 long course meter butterfly in 54.64, an Olympic Trials qualifying time.
Marshall joins Torpey as Badger men's swimmers who registered Olympic Trials cuts this summer. Torpey qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 200 meter fly at the Janet Evans Invitational in July.
Other Badgers competing in nationals were Torpey, Brink Ciferri, Brian Neuman, Kevin Zakrzewski and Matt Zuiderhof.
Wisconsin starts its 2002-03 season Oct. 11-12, with the Wisconsin Invite at the UW Natatorium.
