The Wisconsin men's golf team will play host to the third annual Badger Men's Golf Invitational Fri-Sun., Sept. 6-8, at University Ridge Golf Course.
Toledo is the defending champion after setting a course team record 11-under par 853 in the 54-hole meet last year. UW's Jon Turcott won the individual honors with a nine-under 54-hole course record 207. Turcott will not be defending title as the junior is red-shirting this season.
Play begins at 1 p.m. with an 18-hole shotgun start on Friday, and continues at 9 a.m. with 18-holes each on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

Other Tournament Facts: This is the third year for the Badger Men's Invitational. Wisconsin won the 2000 event with a then-course record four-under par 860. Toledo beat that mark in 2001 with an 11-under par 853.
UW's Jon Turcott set the new collegiate 54-hole mark with a nine-under par 207 last year. The previous year, Jim Lemon and Steve Ratay of Notre Dame tied with a four-under 212. Lemon won the one-hole playoff.
University Ridge has been the site of several women's collegiate and Wisconsin state golf tournaments, most notably the 1998 NCAA Div. I Women 's Golf Championship, and the 2000 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship. It also played host to the Big Ten Men's Golf Championship held in 1995. The teams played the gold tees which then measured 6,851 yards. Ohio State won the tournament with a 72-hole University Ridge record 289-289-306-291'1,175.
