Second Round Results of Badger Men's Golf Invitational

It's still anyone's tournament as Illinois eclipsed a one-stroke deficit to tie Toledo for the lead after the second round of the 54-hole Badger Men 's Golf Invitational at University Ridge in Verona.
Toledo, the 2001 defending champion, is on its record-setting pace of a year ago with a 10-under par 284-282--566. The Rockets set the 54-hole collegiate course record a year ago with an 11-under par 853. Illinois is poised for victory as well with its 285-281'566. Penn State is third three strokes back with a 286-283 '569.
The host Badgers are 12th with a 298-293--590 as the 15-team invitational concludes with 18 holes Sunday. UW sophomore Brian Brodell remained in contention six shots back with a four-under par 69-71'140 to tie for fourth in the 75-person field.
Greg Pieczynski of Penn State leads the tournament by four strokes with a pair 67's which tied the course collegiate 18-hole record until today. Washington State's Ryan Camp, who shot an 81 in the first round to tie for 70th, shot a men's collegiate course record 65 today to move into a tie for 26th at two over 81-65'146. Eighteen golfers have sub-par rounds after two days in excellent weather.
Play resumes Sunday with 18 holes off both No. 1 and 10 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Badgers will tee off in the last groups on No. 10 beginning with Wes Hansen at 9:50 a.m. Brodell will tee off at 10:30 a.m. The entire pairings can be found at golfstat.com.
