Toledo Wins Badger Golf Invitational

Toledo blew away its own collegiate course record set last year by 10 strokes firing a 21-under-par 843 to retain its title in the 54-hole Badger Men's Golf Invitational at University Ridge in Verona. Tied with Illinois to begin the day, the Rockets placed four scorers among the top 12 to win the tournament by eight strokes over the Illini. Penn State was third at 10-under 854.
Toledo's Brad Heaven finished one-under the course record of 207 set last year by UW's Jon Turcott. Heaven finished with 74-67-67'208 to win by three strokes over Illinois' Patrick Nagle and UNC-Wilmington Derek Brown.
The host Badgers finished 12th with a 298-293-302'892. UW sophomore Brian Brodell fired his personal bests finishing 14th with a 69-71-75 '215 in the 75-person field.
