Xavier Invitational Rained Out; Badgers Finish Seventh

The final round of the Xavier Provident Invitational in Mason, Ohio, has been called off due to rain. The results from the first two rounds will stand as the final results.
The Badgers complete the fall season tying for seventh with a 287-285--572. The second round 285 is UW's lowest 18-hole team total since April 28, 2001.
Junior Kevin Tassistro finished in a tie for seventh after hitting 18-hole and 36-hole collegiate career lows of 69 and 139, respectively. He led Wisconsin through both rounds at the par 71, 6,756-yard Grizzly Course at King's Island in Mason, Ohio.
Badger true freshman, Garrett Jones, carded scores of 73-71--144 to tie for 32nd. Junior Brian Brodell was one stroke back with 70-75--145. Rookie Ryan Conn tied for 66th with 75-74--149 and Dylan Esterling rounded out the Wisconsin participants with 81-70--151.
Indiana University won the tournament with scores of 283-277-560. The Hoosiers broke the 36-hole tournament record by two strokes.
Individually, Hoosier Jeff Overton won the rain-shortened 36-hole tournament with a record 12-under par 130 (65-65).
