Two is the Magic Number
Obviously the more goals a team scores, the better its chances of winning are. The number two is a good indicator as to whether or not the Badgers are successful this season. Wisconsin is 7-0-0 when it scores two goals or more in its matches this season. When UW scores one goal or less, the team's record drops to 0-6-1.

Team Captains
Wisconsin women's soccer head coach Dean Duerst has named seniors Bethany Heine and Jenny Kundert and junior Molly Meuer as the squad's captains for the 2003 season. Heine, a former walk-on from Waukesha, Wis., is the most experienced Badger. She has started 43 out of 44 games in the last two years. Anchoring the Badger defense, Heine was named UW's co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. Kundert, UW's co-MVP last season, led the Badgers in almost every offensive category in 2002. She tallied eight goals, 15 assists and 31 points to record UW's first 'triple-crown' since 1993. Her 15 assists rank third all-time in UW 's single-season record book. UW to Host 2003 Big Ten Tournament
The University of Wisconsin women's soccer team will serve as host to the 2003 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament from Nov. 6-9 at the McClimon Complex. This year marks the Badgers' second opportunity to accommodate the top eight teams in the regular season standings for the conference tournament. UW also hosted the tournament following the 1994 season, the first year that the Big Ten sponsored women's soccer. The Badgers are hoping for a repeat of their 1994 performance, as the team captured the tournament title that year. Four quarterfinal matches are slated for Thursday, Nov. 6. The quarterfinal winners will meet the following day in semifinal round action, with the championship match scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8.
