Wisconsin Wins Diablo Grande Intercollegiate

The Wisconsin men's golf team never looked back at the Diablo Grande Ranch Course in Patterson, Calif. Monday and Tuesday, leading the nine-team competition the whole way. With a three round total of 890 (301-298-300) the Badger's nearest threat was a gaping 28 strokes behind, Boise State (304-302-312--918). This was the team's first ever first place finish in 2002-03.
Senior Joel Rechlicz earned individual medalist honors, carding a total 217 (74-73-70--217) and shooting the lowest third round score (70) of all individuals. Sophomores Brian Brodell (79-70-73) and Kevin Tassistro (75-71-76) rounded out the top three spots among all individuals, shooting totals of 222 strokes. In a tie for 10th was sophomore Dylan Esterling with rounds of 73-75-81--229. Wes Hansen also competed for the Badgers, finishing with 74-79-78--231 (T15).
Next up for the Wisconsin men is the Pepsi-Cola Invitational in Pottsboro, Texas from March 29-30.
