Wisconsin in Sixth After Two Rounds of Pepsi-Cola Intercollegiate

After battling 25-30 mile per hour wind gusts, the Badger men's golf team holds sixth place of 14 teams at the Pepsi-Cola Intercollegiate in Pottsboro, Texas. The Arnold Palmer-designed course proved twice as difficult with windy conditions, holding Wisconsin to rounds of 325 and 311 for a 636. Wichita State leads by nine strokes, carding scores of 302-391'596. Wichita State's Julien Trudeau and Oral Roberts' Arvid Ganestam lead individuals, each with a two-over par 146.
The Badgers were led by sophomore Michael Baldwin who tied for 25th, shooting 80-78'158. The rest of the team placed within five strokes of him. Next were sophomores Brian Brodell (T31) with scores of 82-77'159, Kevin Tassistro (T36) with 82-78'160, and Dylan Esterling (T40) with 83-78'161. Rounding out the Badgers competitors was Wes Hansen with rounds of 81-82'163.
Play resumes tomorrow with a final 18-hole round.
