Wisconsin Openweights Take on Ivy League Foes

The Wisconsin women's openweight crew raced No. 3 Princeton, No. 13 Radcliffe and No. 14 Cornell on Lake Carnegie Saturday morning.
The Badgers had their best results in the varsity four and novice eight, finishing second in both events. Radcliffe took the varsity four in 8:08.9, six seconds faster than Wisconsin's finish. In the novice eight, Princeton took top honors with a 7:26.4. The Badgers were second in 7:28.35, just edging out Cornell 's entry, which finished in 7:28.46.
In the varsity eight, Radcliffe won the 2000-meter race in 7:01.1. The Badger finished fourth behind Princeton and Cornell. The UW's time was 7:29.79.
The UW second varsity eight beat out Cornell for third place with a time of 7:17.2. Princeton won the race in 7:10.2.
Wisconsin returns to the Midwest next weekend, but travels to Minneapolis for a Big Ten Double Dual. The Badgers will race Minnesota and Iowa beginning 10 a.m., on Lake Phalen in Maplewood, Minn.
