USRowing Releases Women's Openweight Poll

The Wisconsin women's openweight squad is receiving votes in the first Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll of the season.
University of Washington leads the poll with 457 points and 13 of 24 first-place votes. Princeton is a close second-place with 431 points and three first-place votes. Stanford, California, and Michigan round out the top five. Five schools received first-place votes, including Stanford, No. 6 Brown, and No. 8 Yale. Wisconsin garnered two points in the poll.
The Badger women compete this Saturday and Sunday at the San Diego Crew Classic. The team will race in a preliminary heat for the Jessop-Whittier Cup against No. 3 Stanford, No. 7 Southern California, and No. 10 Ohio State, as well as Minnesota, Tennessee, and Clemson, who all received votes in the preseason poll.
