Senior Nicole Uliasz was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week, Monday. The award is Uliasz's second. She earned her first honor Oct. 15, 2002.
A native of Chalfont, Pa., Uliasz helped lead the Badgers to 5-1 and 7-2 wins at North Dakota, Nov. 20-21. Marking a goal in Saturday's win, Uliasz tallied her third score of the season. Defensively, she helped hold the Fighting Sioux to just 11 shots on goal in Sunday's game. Uliasz and the Badger penalty kill skated off all five North Dakota power plays on Saturday and held the Sioux to just one power play goal in five chances on Sunday.
The Badgers will travel to Boston for the Harvard Shootout over the Thanksgiving holiday to take on Harvard and Northeastern in non-conference action. The Badgers and the Crimson face off Nov. 26 at 3 p.m. before the Badgers battle the Huskies Nov. 27 at noon.
