Omole Finishes Second at World Junior Championships

Demi Omole, a member of the University of Wisconsin men's track and field team, finished second in the men's 100-meter dash at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Grosseto, Italy.
Omole, a sophomore-to-be, was clocked in 10.31 seconds getting edged by U.S. teammate Ivory Williams, who won the race in 10.29. Omole's time was well off his personal best of 10.15 set earlier this season.
Omole and Williams will team up in the U.S. 4x100-meter relay which will compete on Saturday and Sunday.
Omole, a Milwaukee native, won the 100 meters at the USA Junior Championships in a wind-aided 10.14 seconds. He was the 2004 Big Ten Outdoor champion at 100 meters and also anchored the Badgers' 4x100-meter relay to the conference title. Omole set the UW record in the 100 meters with his fifth-place clocking of 10.15 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which garnered him his first All-America honor.
