Wisconsin 15th at Barona Collegiate Cup

The University of Wisconsin men's golf team shot under par in both the second and final rounds Tuesday to claim 15th at the Barona Collegiate Cup in Lakeside, Calif.
The 19 teams completed the second round Tuesday morning, which had been suspended Monday due to poor visibility and weather conditions, before completing the tournament with the final 18 in the afternoon.
The Badgers finished the second round with a 3-under 285. UW then went back onto the course to shoot a 2-under 286 to finish two strokes behind a three-way tie for 12th place at 854 (283-285-286=854) in the team's final action of the fall season.
For the fifth time this fall, junior Garrett Jones (Rewey, Wis.) led the way for Wisconsin. Jones posted scores under par in all three rounds, including a 69 in the final round, to tie for 23rd place at 6-under par 71-70-69=210.
Sophomore Jeff Kaiser (Onalaska, Wis.) finished one stroke behind Jones in a tie for 27th place at 5-under 68-69-74=211.
Freshmen Tyler Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) and Ben Herrera (Waukee, Iowa) tied for 66th place at 2-over 218.
Pat Duffy (Appleton, Wis.) posted Wisconsin's second-best score of the final round with a one-under 71. The freshman tied for 82nd place at 73-79-71=223.
Brigham Young ran away with the team title at 42-under 822, 12 shots better than Fresno State. Denver's James Love held on to win the individual championship at 15-under 201.
