November 18, 2005 | Volleyball
PGA golfer Jerry Kelly will serve an honorary coach for the Wisconsin volleyball team at tonight's match vs. Michigan in the UW Field House. First serve is at 7 p.m.
'It's great that Jerry has agreed to be an honorary coach for our match,' said UW Coach Pete Waite. 'Some people may not know that Jerry is my brother-in-law so we've been following each other's careers for the last 25 years. Jerry's a great competitor so I think he, his wife Carol and son Cooper will love sitting behind our bench for the match.'
Kelly, who has been a member of the PGA tour since 1996, will sign autographs from 6:30 ' 6:45 p.m. He will also give a golf demonstration between games two and three. Items autographed by Kelly will be raffled off throughout the match.
'Jerry is a big name in the golfing world and in the State of Wisconsin,' said Waite. 'I think he'll bring in some new fans to Wisconsin volleyball. I know our fans will really enjoy watching him hit some balls and getting some autographs. It should be a fun night.'
