Reineke, Shaw Named All-Big Ten

Two members of the Wisconsin volleyball team'senior Sheila Shaw and sophomore Taylor Reineke'have been named to the 2005 All-Big Ten Conference team, the league office announced today. Redshirt freshman Audra Jeffers was also honored by league coaches as a member of the Big Ten All-Freshman team.
Shaw, a 6-1 middle blocker, picks up her second consecutive all-conference honor. She currently ranks second on the team and in the Big Ten with 1.51 blocks per game. The Muskego, Wis., recorded a career-high 13 blocks vs. then-fifth-ranked Minnesota and has led the team in blocks in eight matches this season. Shaw leads the Badgers with 0.32 service aces per game and ranks second with a .312 hitting percentage. She is fourth on the team with 2.90 kills per game, having led the team in kills in seven matches. Shaw was the 2005 InnTowner Invitational Most Valuable Player.
Reineke, a 6-3 middle blocker, earns her first All-Big Ten honor after leading the league with 1.67 blocks per game. She also leads the Badgers and ranks seventh in the Big Ten with a .328 hitting percentage while putting down 2.39 kills per game. The Naperville, Ill., native has led the team in blocks in 16 matches and in kills in two matches. In addition to her all-conference honor, Reineke was also named to the 2005 Air Force Falcon Invitational All-Tournament team.
Jeffers, a 6-2 opposite hitter, becomes the seventh consecutive Badger to be named to the freshman honor team. She currently leads the team with 3.44 kills per game, having led the UW in 13 matches. The Hartland, Wis., native has recorded double-figure kills in a team-best 23 matches this season, including a stretch of 11 straight matches. She also ranks third on the team in hitting percentage at .269. Jeffers earned two all-tournament honors this season'at the Air Force Falcon Invitational and the Montana State Holiday Inn Classic.
