Shaw Named Honorable Mention All-Region

Sheila Shaw, a senior on the University of Wisconsin volleyball team, earned honorable mention honors on the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region team. The 6-1 middle blocker is one of three honorable mention selections who are still in consideration for All-America honors.
Shaw is a two-time All-Big Ten pick. She currently ranks second on the team and 21st nationally with 1.52 blocks per game. The Muskego, Wis., recorded a career-high 13 blocks vs. then-fifth-ranked Minnesota and has led the team in blocks in nine matches this season. Shaw leads the Badgers with 0.33 service aces per game and has the best team hitting percentage at .321. She is fourth on the team with 2.93 kills per game, having led the team in kills in seven matches. Shaw was the 2005 InnTowner Invitational Most Valuable Player.
The AVCA will announced its three 12-player All-America teams on Dec. 14.
