Badgers Defeat Marquette University in Dual Match

Four Wisconsin golfers shot par or lower Friday afternoon in harsh conditions at the Orange County National Golf Course to defeate Marquette University in a dual match, 285-293. Five Badgers participated in the meet, with the team's top four scorers making up the team total.
'It was a good day for us. We played a solid round of golf, especially in these windy conditions,' assessed assistant coach B.J. Endicott.
Garrett Jones shot the lowest round of the day, with a two under-par 70. Jeff Kaiser finished the day one stroke behind Jones at one under-par 71, his lowest score of the spring.
Seniors Brian Brodell and Ryan Conn completed Wisconsin's scoring effort, each shooting even-par rounds at 72. A.J. DeLawyer finished up the team 's solid play during the day with a 77.
Adam Steinhofer and Kevin Tassistro competed as individuals. Steinhofer finished his second round of the spring with a 79 while Tassistro shot lowest round of the spring, a one over-par 73.
Endicott was satisfied with the team's performance and looks forward to future tournaments, 'This meet was a good stepping stone for us to start preparing for the main portion of our spring schedule starting in mid-April. '
Wisconsin begins the main portion of its spring slate April 16th at the Boilermaker Invitational on Purdue University's Kampen Golf Course.
