Wisconsin Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Barry Alvarez offered this statement.
'I'd like to personally congratulate Jamie on his opportunity to run the Intercollegiate Athletics program at Iowa State,' said Barry Alvarez, who has served in the dual role of Director of Athletics and Head Football at the University of Wisconsin. 'Jamie is an outstanding athletics administrator, whose vision, work ethic and intelligence will make a huge impact at ISU. In my dual role, Jamie has been both essential and exceptional in running the day-to-day operation of the Badger program. During the times I was unable to fulfill all of the duties associated with the A.D. position, Jamie represented my administration in every aspect. His word was my word, and he did wonderful things in helping advance the mission of our division. Jamie will be sorely missed at the UW-Madison, and he will be an immediate impact player in the Iowa State Athletic Department.'
