Men's Golf Finishes 15th at Wolverine Intercollegiate

The Wisconsin men's golf team finished the Wolverine Intercollegiate in 15th place with a 299 in the final round Sunday morning at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
Sophomore Jeff Kaiser (Onalaska, Wis.) led the Badgers on Sunday with a 72. Kaiser finished the tournament tied for 77th place at 77-81-72=230. Junior Garrett Jones (Rewey, Wis.) posted UW's highest finish, tying for 41st place at 78-66-75=219.
Three freshmen rounded out the Badger effort. Nick Engen (McFarland, Wis.) shot a 75 on Sunday to tie for 61st place at 73-75-75=223. Tyler Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) tied for 75th place after a final round 77 (71-81-77=229). Paul Jacobsen (Racine, Wis.) finished in 84th place at 83-76-81=240.
Michigan, the host school, won the 15-team tournament at 13-under par 277-275-287=839 thanks in part to the performance of individual winner Chritian Vozza (67-69-69=205).
The Badgers next travel to Memphis, Tenn. Oct. 3-4 to take part in the Memphis Invitational.
