The Wisconsin women's rowing programs are inviting all former rowers to return to Madison on Saturday, Oct. 1 for Class Day Racing. Current members of the Badger rowing squad will race against boats made up of UW alumni.
The current Badgers will be broken down by class, with boats racing representing the seniors, juniors, sophomores and first-year rowers. Alumni boats will be made up of rowers from a particular graduation year. Depending on participating numbers, alumni classes may be combined.
Festivities will take place at Porter Boathouse where in Wisconsin rowing tradition, a barbeque will follow. For those participating, meet at Porter Boathouse at the north end of Babcock Drive on the south shore of Lake Mendota at 8 a.m. Launch will begin approximately 8:30 a.m. with racing beginning at 9 a.m.
The racing will also mark the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the UW women's lightweight rowing program.
