NCAA Volleyball Tournament Announcement Today

The 64-team field for the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be announced today between 2-3 p.m. on ESPNews. The Badger coaches and players will gather in the McClain Center auditorium for the selection show. Media and the public are invited to join the team for the announcement with the doors open at 1:45 p.m. Free parking is available in lot 17, the ramp north of Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin will be making its 15th overall and 11th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance in 2006. The Badgers are 26-14 in 14 appearances in the championship and have advanced to the NCAA Regional finals (Elite Eight) the last two seasons.
If Wisconsin is selected to host first and second-round matches, play will be held on Friday-Saturday in the UW Field House. First-round matches will be played on Friday at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. with the Badgers playing in the later match. The second-round match will be played on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Tickets, which must be purchased in a three-match, two-day package until the day of the tournament, are $12 for a reserved seat. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for seniors, youth and students.
