Two Badgers in Top 10 after Day Two

Sophomore Jeff Kaiser and junior Garrett Jones both find themselves in the top 10 while the Wisconsin men's golf team dropped one spot to eighth place with a 296 Saturday in the third round of the Big Ten Championships at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
The Badgers finished the third round at 883, one shot behind Penn State for seventh place. Wisconsin, which finished in seventh place at the 2005 Big Ten Championships, has improved its finish in each of the last two league tournaments.
Kaiser (Onalaska, Wis.) shot a 2-over 73 on Saturday to remain tied for seventh place through 54 holes at 1-over 214. Jones (Rewey, Wis.) fell three spots to a 10th-place tie at 3-over 216 following a 75.
Freshman Tyler Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) moved up one spot with a 4-over 75 in the third round. Obermueller will enter Sunday's final round tied for 34th place at 226.
Junior Adam Steinhofer (Madison, Wis.) is tied for 47th place at 230 following a 76 on Saturday.
Freshman Pat Duffy (Appleton, Wis.) matched the low round of the day for UW with a 73. Duffy is in 54th place at 238 through three rounds.
Indiana took the 54-hole lead at 4-over 856 after a 1-under 283 on Saturday. Michigan State's Ryan Brehm continues to lead all individuals at 7-under 206.
The final round of the 2006 Big Ten Championships takes place Sunday at Conway Farms Golf Club. Play is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT. Live stats for both rounds can be found at golfstat.com while round results can be found at bigten.org and uwbadgers.com.
