Seven Badgers vie for WSGA State Amateur Crown

Seven Badgers are currently competing in the 105th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship at the Mascoutin Golf Club in Berlin, Wis.
After Tuesday's second round, senior-to-be Garrett Jones (Rewey, Wis.) shared the tournament lead with a 4-under 140. Last season Jones led the Badgers in scoring average with a 73.08 (2,631 strokes, 36 round) after competing in all of the teams 36 rounds.
Two other Badgers, Patrick Duffy (Appelton, Wis.) and Adam Steinhofer, remain in the top 10. Duffy who will be a sophomore this coming fall, shot a 73 on Tuesday and is in eighth place at 145. Steinhofer shot a 68 in the tournament's first round and followed with a 78 on Tuesday. The Madison native is currently tied for ninth place.
Junior-to-be Tyler Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) shot a 77 on Tuesday and is currently at 6-over. Jeff Kaiser (Onalaska, Wis.) shot his second consecutive round of 76 on Tuesday and is tied for 43rd with freshman-to-be Jordan Elsen (Kenosha, Wis.). Austin Ehlenfeldt (Beaver Dam, Wis.), who will also be a freshman at UW this fall, is tied for 19th place as he shot a 73 in his second round.
