
UW Ends Season at NU, Lose 3-0

The Wisconsin women's soccer team fell to Northwestern 3-0 Friday night in Evanston, Ill., bringing its 2007 campaign to an end. The Badgers finished the season 6-11-1 overall and 2-8-0 in the Big Ten Conference, while the Wildcats improved to 9-6-4 overall and 4-4-2 in the conference.
Three Badgers, Taylor Walsh (Madison, Wis.), Krista Liskevych (Encinitas, Calif.) and Shannon Terry (Long Lake, Minn.), each took two shots in the game, putting one on goal. Overall, UW finished the game with seven shots to Northwestern's 16.
Goalkeeper Lynn Murray (Marietta, Ga.) recorded five saves in the game, however gave up three goals, while NU keepers Lauren Johnston and Leslie Gittings combined for three stops in the match.
At the half, the Wildcats led 2-0, after scoring in the 31st and 42nd minutes, later adding a goal in the 52nd minute, to win 3-0 and advance to the Big Ten Tournament in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Badgers graduate six seniors in Ann Eshun, Katy Meuer, Lynn Murray, Lauren Rudzinski, Marissa Sarkesian and Shannon Terry. First-year head coach Paula Wilkins wrapped up the season on the road, bringing her overall coaching record to 125-30-12.
