Since debuting the parody song " Jolene " on uwbadgers.com on Dec. 13, I have been asked two questions: who wrote the words and mostly, "Why"'
After seeing how the parody song "Fernando" by ABBA promoted UW preseason Big Ten Player of the Year candidate Alando Tucker in 2007 (it was picked up by Sports Illustrated and espn.com), I thought, what's good for the goose, is good for the gander.
It turns out I was right. In fact, the Jolene parody song with photo was featured in the December 16 New York Times sports section.
