
Northeastern Takes Badger Hockey Showdown

A goal by Ryan Ginand with 1:22 left in the third period broke a 1-1 deadlock and gave Northeastern the 19th annual Badger Hockey Showdown title.
Despite getting outshot 27-19 for the game, and 13-6 in the first period, Northeastern grabbed a 1-0 lead at 6:58 on a breakaway goal by Randy Guzior. Colgate evened the contest at 7:10 of the second period when Tom Riley tallied for the second time this season.
Brad Thiessen made 26 saves for the Northeastern victory, while Mark Dekanich turned away 17 shots in defeat.
Northeastern, first place in Hockey East, improved to 9-4-2, while the Raiders dropped to 7-8-3 on the season.
