
Marci Jobson Named to 2007 World Cup Team

Former Wisconsin women's soccer player Marci Jobson (formerly Miller) was one of 18 players named to the U.S. Women's National Team by head coach, and former UW head coach, Greg Ryan, U.S. Soccer announced Wednesday. Jobson, who played for the Badgers from 1994-95, will represent the United States at the 2007 Women's World Cup held in China from Sept. 10-30.
As a freshman at UW in 1994, Jobson earned All-Freshman honors from both Soccer America and Soccer News. In 1995, the midfielder was named to Soccer America's All-Midwest, All-Sophomore and Elite 11 Midfielder units. She was also first-team All-West Region honoree in 1995 and was the No. 2 point producer in the nation both seasons with 16 (five goals/six assists) and 20 (five goals/team-best 10 assists).
U.S. national team head coach Greg Ryan, mentored the Badgers from 1986-93. Ryan replaced April Heinrichs as head coach in 2005. In eight seasons at Wisconsin, Ryan tallied a 108-32-7 (.759) record and was named NSCAA National Coach of the Year in 1991, as well as NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 1987 and 1991.
