July 30, 2007 | Men's Golf
Wisconsin golfer Nick Engen won the 2007 Men's All-City Golf Tournament on Sunday. The McFarland, Wis. native birdied on the final two holes to pass former Badger golfer Adam Steinhofer on the leaderboard and claim the title.
The junior-to-be finished with a 72-hole score of 6-under par 282. Steinhofer finished two strokes back to take second place, and Garrett Jones, another former UW golfer finished three strokes back from the leader to take third.
Engen finished in second place at last year's tournament due to a bogey on the final hole and Steinhofer won due to his birdie on the 18th.
After his victory on Sunday, Engen said, 'winning this tournament was better than (winning) state (in 2005).' Engen claimed the 2005 WIAA State Division Two title as a senior at McFarland High School.
