Hopkins Earns Olympic Trial Spot

Mike Hopkins (Wilmington, Del.) finished in 18th place in the C-final of the men 's 200-meter backstroke (2:02.41) at the 2007 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships, which earned him a spot in the Olympic Time Trials next year.

Former Badger swimmer Carly Piper also earned an Olympic Time Trial bid with her 22nd place finish in the C-final in the women's 100-meter freestyle (56.95).
