
Woltman Wins Wisconsin State Open

After a weather delay Wednesday afternoon, junior-to-be Dan Woltman finished his final round on Thursday to win the 2007 Wisconsin State Open at Blackwolf Run.
The Beaver Dam, Wis. native and University of Kentucky transfer shot a final round 68 to take the title and finished the 72-hole event at seven-under par 241. Wisconsin head golf coach Jim Schuman took second place by double-bogeying his last hole to finish two strokes behind Woltman. Schuman was tied for first after the second round and was the leader at the time of the weather delay during the final round.
Three other current and two former Badgers also made it to the final round. Tyler Obermueller (River Falls, Wis.) tied for 11th place while Badger alums Garrett Jones (Rewey, Wis.) and Adam Steinhofer (Madison, Wis.) and current UW golfer Danny Zimmerman (Verona, Wis.) all tied for 23rd place. Patrick Duffy (Appleton, Wis.) finished the 72-hole event tied for 45th place.
