
Percevecz named Big Ten diver of the week

Wisconsin sophomore athid=6633&deptid=132"> --> Caleb Percevecz has been named Big Ten Conference Men's Diver of the Week following his performance in the Badgers' season-opening dual meet with UW-Milwaukee, the league announced Tuesday.
Percevecz got his season off to a strong start against the Panthers last Friday, sweeping both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions and surpassing the NCAA qualifying standards in both events, as well.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., native scored 333.98 points to take top honors on the 1-meter board and then tallied a score of 334.73 to take first place in the 3-meter competition.
Percevecz's wins helped power the Badger men to a convincing 154-70 win over UW-Milwaukee.
The recognition is the second Big Ten honor of Percevecz's career. He also was named the league's top diver for the week of Oct. 9, 2007.
Percevecz and the rest of the Badgers return to action Friday with a 5 p.m. dual meet against Big Ten rival Iowa.
