NEWSWORTHY NOTES
Junior athid=5596&deptid=122"> --> Scott Lorenz improved his team-leading goal total to seven for the season as he scored in his third-consecutive game. He has scored four of the Badgers ' last six goals.
Wednesday's 1-0 win over Marquette was the Badgers' first true road victory since a 2-1 triumph over Illinois-Chicago on Oct. 28, 2007, and snapped a three-game road losing streak.
By downing the Golden Eagles on Wednesday, the Badgers extended the unbeaten streak against their in-state rival to six games. The UW hasn't lost to Marquette since 2002 and now has claimed wins in five of the teams' last six meetings.
With Wednesday's win, the Badgers also improved their record against non-conference foes to 6-2-1 on the season.
Lorenz has tallied 14 shots in his last four games (including six against Michigan State on Oct. 5) to boost his team-leading shots total to 42 for the season, a number that also ranks him No. 2 in the Big Ten. In his first two seasons, Lorenz tallied a combined 33 shots and recorded a single goal.
Of Lorenz's 14 chances over the past three games, nine were shots on goal. He leads the UW in that category, as well, and has tallied 24 on the season.
The Badgers were held to a season-low five shots against Marquette, with their previous low for the season being the 10 they recorded against Cal State Northridge on Sept. 12. It was just the third time in 13 games this season that the UW was held to fewer than 12 shots in a contest.
Conversely, the eight shots tallied by Marquette was the third-lowest total by a UW opponent this season. Western Illinois (Oct. 1) managed just seven shots on the Badgers, while Santa Clara (Sept. 5) recorded only six.

Lorenz continued his recent scoring streak by netting the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 1-0 win over in-state rival Marquette. Lorenz's unassisted score in the 15th minute was his fourth goal in the Badgers' last four games and helped the Badgers improve to 2-0 against teams from Wisconsin this season.
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
The Buckeyes enter Saturday's contest winless in their last three games after falling, 1-0, to West Virginia on Wednesday. That was preceded by a loss to Penn State on Oct. 11 and a tie with Illinois-Chicago on Oct. 8. Prior to the recent skid, however, the Buckeyes won four of their previous five games.
Ohio State has tallied just two goals in its last three games, after scoring a combined nine in the previous five contests. Five OSU players have scored multiple goals on the season, led by Danny Irizarry's four.
The Buckeyes average 1.46 goals per game while allowing their opponents a scoring average of 0.85, having surrendered just 11 goals in 13 games.
ABOUT THE OHIO STATE SERIES
The Buckeyes have won six straight regular-season matchups between the teams, dating back to the 2002 season.
Wisconsin's last win in the series came in 2001, while the Badgers have dropped three straight to the Buckeyes in Columbus since winning there in 2000.
Overall, the Badgers are 4-6-1 against Ohio State on the Buckeyes' home field.
The Badgers' last win against the Buckeyes came in the 2003 Big Ten Tournament, as the UW scored a 2-0 win in Bloomington, Ind.
UW head coach Jeff Rohrman is 1-6 all-time against the Buckeyes, while Ohio State coach John Bluem owns a 10-3 record against the Badgers dating back to 1997.
