
Freshman Nosbusch garners first Big Ten honor

Freshman forward Laurie Nosbusch of the Wisconsin women's soccer team earned her first honors as Big Ten Offensive Co-Player of the Week Monday after her outstanding performance over the weekend in the Badgers' wins over Michigan and Michigan State. Nosbusch, who hails from Mequoun, Wis., shares the honor with junior Katie Schoepfer of Penn State.
Against Michigan, Nosbusch knocked in Wisconsin's third goal for the 3-1 victory and also tallied an assist. Two days later in the 2-0 shutout upset over Michigan State, Nosbusch again tacked on a goal and an assist to her season numbers. In her 16 starts, Nosbusch leads the team with 21 points 'seven goals and seven assists.
The last Badger to receive the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award was senior Taylor Walsh on Sept. 8, 2008.
