
Badgers remain in 11th after second round of Landfall Tradition

The team score improved on Saturday, but the 74th-ranked University of Wisconsin men 's golf team is still in 11th place after the second round of the Landfall Tradition at the par 72, 7058-yard, Country Club of Landfall's Jack Nicklaus course in Wilmington, N.C.
After opening the tournament with a 29-over, 317, the Badgers improved on that mark slightly during round two. The team posted a 28-over, 316 and now is 57 strokes over par with a 633. Iowa is still leading the tournament, sitting 22-over par with a 598.
The biggest highlight of the tournament so far has been the play of senior Danny Zimmerman (Verona, Wis.). He posted his second straight round of 75 to move up to a tie for seventh. He was tied for ninth after the opening round. For the tournament, Zimmerman is six-over, with a 150 (75-75).
Zimmerman trails tournament leaders Rafael Campos of VCU, Garland Green of Virginia Tech and Vince India of Iowa by four strokes.
Junior Jordan Elsen (Kenosha, Wis.) also improved his place in the standings. In 28th after the first day, Elsen shot a four-over, 76 on Saturday to move up into a tie for 17th. He is now 10-over par for the tournament with a 154 (78-76).
Senior Pat Duffy (Appleton, Wis.) shot six spots up the leaderboard thanks to an eight-over, 80 in round two. He was six strokes better from the first round to the second, the best mark on the team. Duffy is now 22-over, with a two-round total of 166 (86-80) and is in a tie for 49th after ending the opening round in 54th.
Two strokes behind Duffy is fellow senior Tyler Obermueller. The River Falls, Wis. native dropped eight spots and is now tied for 53rd. He followed an opening round 83, with an 85 in round two and is now 24-over par with a 168.
Senior Dan Woltman (Beaver Dam, Wis.) withdrew during the second round after posting an 81 in round one.
