
Badgers hang on to No. 25 ranking

The latest CBS College Sports Network/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I poll was released Monday and despite going 0-2 last weekend, the Badgers (14-8 overall, 4-6 Big Ten Conference) still rank at No. 25. Wisconsin dropped four spots from its No. 21 ranking last week.
Penn State remains in the top spot with all 60 first-place votes. The Nittany Lions have yet to lose a set this season and are 22-0 overall. The rest of the top five also remains the same from last week. Nebraska is No. 2 at 20-0 while Texas is right behind at No. 3 with a 16-2 record. California is 18-2 and ranked No. 4 while Stanford rounds out the top five at 17-3.
Following a loss to then-No. 20 Michigan, Minnesota (18-4) dropped two spots this week to No. 13. Illinois (15-5) moved up two places to No. 17. Michigan (18-4) also bumped up two spots to No. 18 while Purdue (17-5) dropped to No. 20.
Wisconsin will try to snap its four-match losing streak Wednesday when Northwestern comes to town. The Wildcats visit the UW Field House at 7 p.m. and the match will air live on the Big Ten Network. Wisconsin also hosts Michigan State Friday for a Halloween match-up at 7 p.m. inside the UW Field House.
