Gabrielsen, Ohlander named to Big Ten All-Freshman team

Janelle Gabrielsen and Elle Ohlander from the University of Wisconsin were named to the Big Ten Conference All-Freshman team in volleyball, the conference office announced today. It was the first time that two Badgers landed on the rookie team and brings the all-time UW all-freshman honorees to 10.
Gabrielsen, a 6-1 setter/outside hitter, recorded the only triple-double in the Big Ten this season when she had 13 kills, 10 digs and 15 assists vs. No. 20 Michigan. She was also only the third UW player to record a triple-double and the first since 1988. Gabrielsen also had five double-doubles this season. She played in 31 matches this season, starting 25. She averaged 1.21 kills, 5.22 assists, 1.86 digs and 0.48 blocks per set. Gabrielsen had career highs of 13 kills, 38 assists, 16 digs and six blocks.
Ohlander, a 6-6 middle blocker, ranked second on the team this season with 0.91 blocks per set. She was also second in hitting percentage at .248, putting down 1.51 kills per set. Ohlander had a career-high 13 kills vs. Cal State Fullerton and also had a career-best eight blocks vs. Purdue.
