The UW women's soccer team completes its roster with the addition of junior transfer Amy Szilard. Head Coach Paula Wilkins will enter the 2008 season with a roster of 29 including 12 freshmen.

Szilard joins the Badgers after two years at East Carolina where she was named the team 's Offensive Player of the Year in 2006. She started every game she played in and registered 11 goals and six game-winning goals in two seasons. A native of Frankfort, Ill. Szilard will serve as a forward for the Badgers.

2007 (East Carolina): Started in all 19 games ... had three goals on the season for six points ... took 23 shots, 11 of which were shots on goal ... had two game-winning goals; one was against Campbell (9/21) and the other one was against Old Dominion in overtime (9/7)

2006 (East Carolina): Started in all 20 contests ... was named Offensive Player of the Year by her teammates ... netted eight goals on the season ... scored two goals in a game on two occasions, against Marshall (10/6) and against Southern Miss (10/15) ... registered four game-winning goals for the Pirates, at Furman (9/22), against Southern Miss (10/15), at Tulsa (10/20), and against UTEP (10/27) ... led the team in points (17), shots (39), goals (8), game-winning goals (4) and shots on goal (21)

Prep: Started every varsity game for four years at Lincoln-Way East, coached by Brian Papa ... earned varisty letters in soccer (four) and track and field (two) ... ranks seventh all-time in Illinois history for most goals in a single season ... Named captain in 2004 ... named team Most Valuable Forward ... netted 87 career goals (9-freshman, 50 sophomore, 7-junior, 21-senior) and 64 assists ... team MVP as a freshman ... four-time regional champion and also member of sectional and super-sectional championship teams as a senior ... member of the Illinois Olympic Development Program in 2004 and 2005 ... played for the Windy City Pride, coached by Ko Thanadabouth ... won the 2004 Midwest Regional League Championship ... 2005 State Cup Semifinalist.
