
Freshman Michael Ross earns Big Ten weekly honors

MADISON, Wis. -- After two impressive NCAA qualifying scores last Friday against Minnesota, University of Wisconsin frehsman Michael Ross has earned his first Big Ten Conference weekly honors.
Ross helped the Badgers grab three of the top four spots in the 3-meter diving competition, racking up an NCAA qualifying score of 334.96 points, and he ultimately finished third in the event.
On the 1-meter board, Ross also tallied an NCAA qualifying mark of 326.93 to secure his first career win.
Ross was the Illinois state diving champion as a senior, and also helped lead New Trier High School to its state title, but grabbed his first collegiate honors this week.
Ross earned Wisconsin's second weekly diving award this year after Caleb Percevecz was honored on Oct. 13.
On Friday Nov. 6, the Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team will venture from home for the first time this season, joining the women's team in Tucson, Ariz. to battle Arizona and UNLV.
