MADISON, Wis. – Four Wisconsin women’s soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-Central Region team and sophomore Alev Kelter was named to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division I Women All-Great Lakes Region second team, the NSCAA announced.

Juniors Erin Jacobsen (Chemistry), Leigh Williams (Communicative Disorders) and Laurie Nosbusch (Biology) all earned a spot on the region’s academic first team. The trio was also named to the Academic All-Big Ten team in the fall.
Nosbusch concluded the 2010 season with a career-high 10 goals to lead Wisconsin in scoring. Jacobsen served as a defensive stopper from the midfield position, starting every game of the season for the Badgers and recording two assists. Williams was one of the Badgers’ midfielders and started nearly every game of the 2010 season. The junior finished with one assist.
Junior Meghan Flannery (English) landed a spot on the Scholar All-Central Region to join her 2010 Academic All-Big Ten honor and wrap up the list of Badger academic award winners. Flannery was a key component in Wisconsin’s defensive success this year as one of the few Badgers to play in every minute for the Cardinal and White. Flannery helped the squad slate a program-best 930 minutes without allowing a goal.
