
UW completes 36 holes of Big Ten Golf Championship

Independence, Minn. - After 36 holes of the 2010 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship, the Badgers are 11th place with a 30-over par 298-300--598. UW began the day with an opening round 14-over-par 298 at Windsong Farm Club in Independence, Minn. Illinois is the only team under par and leads the 11-team field with a 6-under 281-281--562.
Playing in his first conference tournament, freshman Michael Sorenson is the top Badger tying for 16th with a 3-over-par 71-74-145. llinois' Zach Barlow zoomed by first round leader NU's David Lipsky (67) to an impressive 6-under par 70-66-36. The teams played through heavy rain most of the day.
The final two rounds of the 72-hole tournament are scheduled with 18 holes Saturday, and 18 on Sunday.
