MADISON, Wis. -- While the Wisconsin rowing programs recruit experienced student-athletes, they are widely known for developing novice rowers into national-caliber athletes, and even Olympians. With that in mind, the rowing programs will hold three open houses at Porter Boathouse for those interested in taking up the sport.
Open houses are scheduled for Aug. 30 and 31, as well as Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. No rowing experience is necessary and interested persons need only attend one of the open houses.
The teams, which make up three of Wisconsin's 23 Division I varsity sports, are looking for athletic students of all sizes. The teams practice in the afternoon throughout the school year and travel nationwide to compete.
Those with additional questions can contact women's assistant coach Megan Cooke or men's assistant coach Matt Boyle. More information can also be found here.
